OnePlus 7 release date, price, news and rumors
As OnePlus preps for the launch of its next flagship smartphone, leaks continue to pour in. The latest leak suggests a radical design change for the OnePlus 7.
OnePlus has become one of the biggest names in the smartphone industry thanks to its consistent range of products over the past three years. The company recently launched the OnePlus 6T and a special 10GB RAM variant of the smartphone in collaboration with automotive pioneer McLaren. Now a image leak clearly shows what are some of the features of the flagship killer.
Since OnePlus has a six-month upgrade cycle, we are expecting the company to announce their next ‘flagship killer’ in the coming months. Previously we heard that the company is also working on a more expensive, 5G variant of the upcoming flagship killer, which would launch for the European market this year.
OnePlus 7: Everything you need to know
When it will unveil?
OnePlus hasn’t revealed a concrete launch date for the OnePlus 7, and we can’t see it doing so for a while. Nonetheless, that won’t stop us from making an educated guess as to when the smartphone will make its debut. We’re opting for mid-2019.
Given that the OnePlus 6 was announced in May 2018, we reckon May 2019 is a viable prediction for the launch of the flagship killer. With this statement, both the One+ 5 and the One+3 bucked the annual May trend and were released in June of their respective years, meaning a May 2019 release date for the OnePlus 7 is not an inevitability.
OnePlus 7 design: What will the OnePlus 7 look like?
OnePlus 7 may receive a facelift too with no notch cutout. The smartphone is expected to feature an edge-to-edge display with no presence of the notch. Rumous also show that One+ to opt for the sliding camera mechanism on the upcoming beast. Another feature we’ve seen on phones like Oppo F11 Pro and Vivo V15 Pro.
This phone is looking to be a major upgrade in terms of design .But the smartphone will most likely launch with expected specifications. Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 processor powers this beast with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage.
The rumours says the phone uses triple-camera setup featuring 48-megapixel, 20-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors . It could sport a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Leaks suggest a 4,000mAh battery with a big 44W fast charger on the OnePlus 7. On the software front, the smartphone will most likely launch with OxygenOS 9 based on Android 9.0 Pie.
We’re also expecting the OnePlus 7 to continue on its predecessor’s water resistance. We’re hoping the OnePlus 7 will go one step further and turn the water-resistance up a notch.
The leaked renders (below) appear to show the handset featuring a pop-up camera, tiny bezels. No notch and a triple rear camera setup accompanied by a flash.
PRICE AND RELEASE DATE
So when will we see the new OnePlus 7? Phone will release around that time, too, though it could be pushed back a little until June. As far as pricing goes, the OnePlus 6T came in at around $550, so it’s likely the OnePlus 7 will be around that price as well — if not a little more expensive.
We’ll update this article as we hear more about the OnePlus 7, so stay tuned.
